Why 3D?
3Dimensional part and assembly files offer the following features that 2D can not:
- Mass properties are linked directly to the part's geometry.
- The center of mass can be easily calculated for both parts and assemblies.
- Interference analysis can be conducted between parts.
- Wall Thicknesses can be analyzed throughout a part.
- Near photo realistic renderings can be created.
- Simple animations can be recorded.
- Assembly can be exploded for visual aid.
- Finite Element Analysis calculations can be conducted.
- Part and assembly geometry is controlled by dimensions and constraints.
- Any part inside an assembly is controlled by the original part file. When a part is updated, all assemblies it is used in will also be updated.
